Best Dallas Neighborhoods
Selecting a single best Dallas neighborhood is actually not possible. The criteria for such assessments are simply too personal, and in many cases too subjective, for there to be a definitive choice on which everyone can agree. Most home buyers do agree, however, that excellent schools and a safe and nice place to live are the two things on which they are least willing to compromise. Consequently, all of the neighborhoods listed below had to first check both of these boxes in order to be considered as some of the best places to live in the Dallas.
Certainly there are other great Dallas area neighborhoods besides those listed on this page, but these particular neighborhoods are special in several ways ...
- All of these neighborhoods, except those in north Dallas, are located within the attendance boundaries of the best public schools in Dallas and the top Dallas Fort Worth school districts. Most public schools attended by north Dallas students perform at a significantly lower level than the public schools serving the other Dallas neighborhoods listed on this page, which is likely the major reason the most highly regarded private schools in Dallas are located in north Dallas.
- A number of them can be counted among the safest neighborhoods in the Dallas area. As indicated on this best Dallas suburbs page, six of the ten Dallas Fort Worth cities and towns with the lowest overal crime rates, specifically Colleyville, Fairview, Flower Mound, Keller, Trophy Club and University Park are where these neighborhoods are located. Five more, Allen, Coppell, Highland Village, Prosper and Southlake, rank among the top twenty safest DFW cities and towns.
- All are located conveniently close to one or more of DFW's most frequent driving destinations.
- Many of these neighborhoods/subdivisions have great amenities, especially those in master planned communities, and a number of them are located near DFW's best golf and country clubs.
