Most students living in Frisco attend Frisco ISD schools. Students living in Frisco neighborhoods located in Denton County, west of Legacy Drive and south of Lebanon Road, attend Lewisville ISD schools. Some students living in east and northeast Frisco attend Little Elm ISD schools and a growing number of students living in northeast Frisco attend Prosper ISD schools.

Liberty High School, Wakeland High School, Pearson Middle School, Fowler Middle School, Pioneer Heritage Middle School, Griffin Middle School, Vandeventer Middle School, McSpedden Elementary School, Norris Elementary School, Hosp Elementary School and Ashley Elementary School additionally earned spots on the 2018 Texas best high schools, 2018 Texas best middle schools and 2018 Texas best elementary schools rankings.

More than 90 percent of the students who attend forty-three of the sixty-six public schools that serve Frisco met or exceeded the Texas Education Agency (TEA) 2017 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) achievement standard. The 2017 accountability rating for all of the public schools serving Frisco students is Met Standard, currently the TEA top campus and district rating. Frisco ISD, Lewisville ISD, Little Elm ISD and Prosper ISD also all received Met Standard ratings. Frisco ISD and Prosper ISD are ranked among the 2018 best school districts in Texas.
